This policy explains how aijoe.uk collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit the site, use the prompt library and generator, or join as a member. We've tried to keep it short and plain.

Who we areaijoe.uk is a small UK website about AI art, run by AiJoe.uk from the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

The site is built and hosted on Wix, and Wix.com Ltd processes personal data on our behalf as part of providing that service.
You can reach us any time at aijoeukinfo@gmail.com.

What we collect
We only collect what the site actually needs to work. Depending on how you use aijoe.uk, that can include:

  • Usage information through Wix Analytics: visits, pages viewed, device information and rough location.

  • Member account details if you sign up and log in.

  • Things you submit as a member: Challenge Submissions, Image Favourites and Saved Prompts.

  • Payment information where you buy or use credits (Credit Payments and Credit Purchases). All payments are in GBP.

  • Anything you send us through the contact form.

  • Blog comments and likes you leave on the site.

  • Information collected by the third-party tools listed in the cookies section below, such as analytics and session recordings.

How we use it and our lawful bases
Under the UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. Ours are:

  • Running your member account and log-in: contract.

  • Storing and showing your Challenge Submissions, Image Favourites and Saved Prompts: contract.

  • Taking payments for credits and keeping purchase records: contract (and legal obligation for tax and accounting records).

  • Replying to messages sent through the contact form: legitimate interests (answering people who get in touch).

  • Publishing and moderating blog comments and likes: legitimate interests (running a useful, safe community).

  • Keeping the site secure and preventing abuse: legitimate interests (protecting the site and its members).

  • Analytics and session recordings (Wix Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, TWIPLA): consent.

  • Advertising and measuring ads (TikTok Pixel): consent.

  • Functional extras such as the Pinterest Save button: consent.

  • Remembering your cookie choice and providing essential site functions: legitimate interests and our legal duty under PECR.

Cookies and similar technologies
We use a cookie banner (Usercentrics and CookieYes) to ask for your choices. Before you choose, only essential cookies are set — Wix's default setting on this site is essential only until visitors choose.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the site.

The tools we use are:

  • Pinterest Save button — Pinterest — lets you save images to Pinterest; Pinterest may set its own cookies. Functional: needs your consent.

  • TikTok Pixel — TikTok — measures visits from TikTok ads and helps build advertising audiences. Advertising: needs your consent.

  • Usercentrics — Usercentrics — shows the cookie banner and records your choice. Essential: no consent needed.

  • CookieYes — CookieYes — shows the cookie banner and records your choice. Essential: no consent needed.

  • Microsoft Clarity — Microsoft — analytics and session recordings, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement. Analytics: needs your consent.

  • TWIPLA — TWIPLA — visitor analytics and session recordings. Analytics: needs your consent.

Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data.
We share it only with the organisations that help us run the site:

  • Wix.com Ltd, as our website host and processor.

  • Pinterest, TikTok, Microsoft, TWIPLA, Usercentrics and CookieYes, in connection with the tools listed above and in line with your cookie choices.

  • The payment providers used for credit purchases, so payments can be taken and recorded.  Wix Payments  or PayPal.

International transfers
Some of the companies above are based outside the UK, so your personal data may be transferred abroad.
Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards — for example UK adequacy regulations for countries the UK considers to have equivalent protection, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can ask us for more detail about the safeguards used by emailing aijoeukinfo@gmail.com.

How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it, then delete it.

  • Member accounts and the content saved to them: for as long as your account is active, and deleted within a reasonable period after you close it or after a long spell of inactivity.

  • Contact form messages: kept long enough to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted.

  • Blog comments and likes: kept while the post is published, or until you ask us to remove them.

  • Payment and credit purchase records: kept for the period required by UK tax and accounting law.

  • Analytics and session recordings: kept for the retention period set by each tool, which is usually a limited number of months.

Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete.

  • Ask us to erase your data.

  • Ask us to restrict how we use it.

  • Object to our use of it, including where we rely on legitimate interests.

  • Ask us to transfer your data to you or another provider (portability).

  • Withdraw your consent at any time, including your cookie choices, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.

Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please tell us first at aijoeukinfo@gmail.com so we can try to put it right.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children
aijoe.uk isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
The minimum age for a member account is 18. If you think a child has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.

Security
The site runs on Wix, which provides hosting, encryption in transit (HTTPS) and account security features. Member passwords are handled by Wix's log-in system.
We keep access to member and payment information limited to those who need it. No website can be completely secure, but we take sensible steps to protect your data and will tell you and the ICO about a serious breach where the law requires it.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new tool or feature. The latest version is always on this page, and we'll note the date it was last updated 29/09/2026.
